Who’s Jean-Claude Léga ?
Jean-Claude Léga is the 3D artist doing all the 3D renders for BP. You can see his name appearing on several 3D pictures on BP’s Gulf of Mexico Response - check at the bottom right of the images, that’s usually where he signs his renders.
I’ve been interested in knowing who this man was, and after a Google search found his website, Jptlega.com - his portfolio confirming that he’s, indeed, that particular person doing all those images for BP.
I’ve thought it could be interesting to discuss with him to have an understanding on how someone specializes in 3D rendering for industries in general (his portfolio is proof of that commitment for several clients in the oil industry), his background (is he an engineer ? does he has some kind of basic understanding on the processes he draws, or does it go way beyond that ?), is he a freelance artist ?, and the particular nature of his actual job, doing 3D renders very fast for BP : what’s the chain of events that leads to him receiving the technical specs and brief for a particular job, how long does he have to complete a drawing, how’s the drawing checked and approved at BP, by who, etc.
I’ve tried to contact him through the email address available in his DNS records, but have been unsuccessful so far. Hope someone will manage to get an interview from him.

I was sent this link by my brother. I’m sorry it’s been so hard to find me but would be happy to answer questions.
I live in Houston, Texas
I work for a subsea company JPKenny
The website is VERY old and is my old work.
I typically had 12 hours to produce work for BP on BP Horizon illustrations or less.
Email me for more data. I’d br happy to answer if I can.
